about Victoria Ross

Founder of the International Institute for Corrective Muscle Therapy

Back in the 1970’s I wanted to help a friend who became bedridden with a collagen disorder which her doctors described as uncurable. She couldn’t get out of bed, lift her arms to feed herself much less care for her two small children.

I started working on her arms which felt like “mush” but I noticed that if I worked across the muscle fibers (instead of up and down her arm) the tissues would change…and surprisingly quickly! Within a few days, she could raise her arms, feed herself and get out of bed. Soon after, she got rid of her wheel chair.

I wanted more people to experience this restorative magic of the body, so I accepted the invitation of one of her doctors to teach this Restorative Massage at his clinic; and soon people were coming from all over for this across-the-fiber muscle therapy.

One of the people who came was a personal friend of Therese Pfrimmer and a graduate of her method of Deep Muscle Therapy, a total body across-the -fiber treatment. He sponsored me to attend her school.

While in Canada I was invited to become a Master Pfrimmer Instructor, authorized to teach her method and create structured materials to standardize her work, since she died without preparing any written formats. So, in the 80’s, I was formatting both her 80-hour total body course and my series of 20- hour muscle isolation courses.

By now, in order to meet expanding educational criteria, I founded two schools: The Pennsylvania School of Muscle Therapy, Ltd. and the Pfrimmer Institute for Corrective Muscle Therapy, Ltd, (now named: International Institute for Corrective Muscle therapy, [IICMT]).

We captured the attention of the CNR-Center for Neurologic Rehabilitation in Philadelphia (created by Eugene Spitz—inventor of the brain shunt for hydro-cephalis) which invited us to a joint-participation project.

Also, two chiropractors, a medical doctor and a cranio-sacral specialist joined our staff of 12 CCMT’s at our clinic: Deep Muscle Therapy Center. Our school, IICMT, has graduated hundreds of students, internationally.   I hope you are impressed (smile!) because this is what I hope YOU will do!!

Now that I am in my eighties, my son asks me why I’ve endured so long with this 50 year project. I tell him, “The Crossfiber work is too important to abandon until it becomes a commonly known household word that people can easily request when they need it. My dream is to put Crossfiber on the map!” (And…if I don’t finish it, I hope YOU will!!

When YOU learn to do Crossfiber well, there is no limit to the legacy you can create in professional excellence and personal fulfillment.
